No other web-based platform provides the flexibility I need to create applications that enhance our daily operations as DocuPeak. We use DocuPeak to enhance multiple business processes citywide and across multiple departments. We started with “CitiStat” for tracking our priority projects for all departments. The system provides a uniform methodology for gathering status updates and keeping management up-to-speed on project issues, milestones, and deliverables. We have plans to use DocuPeak for notifying our police officers about subpoenas, monitoring contract and agreement action items, and building our Continuity of Operations Plans.

While working on the DocuPeak project management application “CitiStat”, I was tasked by representatives from the Inglewood PD to provide a solution to their antiquated subpoena tracking system. After a handful of discussions with the developers from Webiplex, I quickly realized the potential for an additional BPM application that would provide 24-7 functionality to the members of the Inglewood PD. It needed to be extraordinarily user friendly, customizable, scalable, and reliable. Within a few months, we had an application that provides the above requirements plus the security and functionality required by the DA which will also allow us to bridge systems with the City Attorney’s Office.

DocuPeak for Government Business Process Management (BPM)

Local government agencies such as cities, counties, school districts and special districts provide essential services to the public. Each organization has numerous business processes that require coordination, review, approval and sharing of documents. DocuPeak delivers a comprehensive, document-centric BPM solution for government processes. DocuPeak’s flexibility, scalability and ease of building applications can be used to improve management accountability and productivity of staff.

The performance and coordination of the management team is enhanced through implementation of the DocuPeak applications to monitor status of projects and their related tasks. Integrating scanned paper with accounting systems in addition to providing a flexible BPM framework. DocuPeak’ ScanBench module provides remote capture, indexing and submittal to the central repository. Documents can be converted to digital images and stored in the DocuPeak database/repository. This reduces filing and retrieval workload and improves ability to quickly locate documents to support department business processes. Existing paper documents can be captured, stored, tracked and retrieved such as requisitions, purchase orders, requests for payment, invoices, petty cash disbursements, travel requests, performance evaluations and facilities service requests.

DocuPeak can also be used to support external customer business processes using a standard Web Browser interface. Links on the existing government web page can open a hosted DocuPeak application for submittal of information, requests for services or to retrieve public documents. The DocuPeak application can support revenue generating processes such as business licensing, animal licensing, building permits, zoning requests, facilities reservations, citation payments, document distribution services and other application oriented processes. DocuPeak enables a government process to be available 24/7 reducing the need for citizens, company representatives and service providers to call or visit city hall.
